Entry from: Antananarivo, Madagascar Entry Title: “Madagascar” Entry: “Got up early for an 8am flight to Antananarivo (Tana). South African Air (SAA) to Jo’Berg then Air Madagascar to TNR. Unfortunately it wasn’t until we arrived in Jo’Berg that we realize just how bad an airline Air Madagascar really is. Flight was supposed to leave at 1:50pm. It didn’t take off until 10:00pm and we didn’t arrive at our hotel in Tana until 2:00am!!!! Wish we would have taken the earlier SAA flight that we didn’t think we’d have time to make. We probably could have gotten a flight to Paris then an Air France flight back to Tana and still gotten there quicker. Anyhow, Lisa and I spent the afternoon walking around the wonderful Jo’Berg airport which to be honest is pretty nice. Arriving in Tana we met Benjamin from our tour company – www.madagascar-tour.com at the airport. Luckily Benjamin checked the flight arrival time before heading out to the airport (I’m sure he’s used to dealing with Air Mad). Benjamin introduced us to our driver for the next 10 days “Babba” who took us to our hotel in the city. There was some kind of Christmas street fair going on outside out hotel and we were surprised that even at 2:00am the child beggars locked on to us and harassed us for money before we escaped into the hotel.
